Really used my Instant pot today. Made chicken sausage jambalaya from scratch! Some hushpuppies go good for a side dish. I know I should eat more veggies . Jambalaya has celery and bell pepper so thats something :P

Before I made the jambalaya, I made cherry cheese cake!  (just canned cherry pie filling on top)

I feel like im dining in a 5 star restaurant . :D

Get an extra  plate and some utensils on the table. I’ll be over in a bit.

Damn that stuff looks tasty. I personally really like canned cherry filling (even though I usually don’t like fresh cherries) and the cheesecake itself looks like the lighter, airy kind.

I had to look up what hushpuppies were. I guess it’s like a deep fried cornbread?

I’m using my instant pot right now to make a bunch of vegetable stock, should be done soon. Might just have some pan cooked chicken and use the stock as a sauce. My dumbass looked at the bread in the grocery store but never thought to pick up it for some dumb reason, so I may need to make some rice.

The cheesecake is a little dense, not too sweet like store bought ones.

I think the hushpuppies I bought were made of cornmeal, with onions and seasoning.

Looks good. Are you preparing for the coming storm? My wife and kids are locking the house down and getting ready to join me in Houston.

I love my instant pot. Although I generally use it in slow cooker mode 99% of the time, it works well for rice cooking and in a pinch I will pressure cook stuff if I am lazy. But everything seems to come out much better slow cooked and it requires less effort. Instant pot pressure cooked is better than just baking something but it never ends up as “liquid meat” or “falls right off the bone”.

That would get a “its too spicy” from my kids at present so we usually make something like this but  dial back the spice for them.
