if you own cheap cars, you can be impressed/excited about a hail event without much concern :D

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

hail is such a fascinating weather phenomenon, just how the ball is formed is so fascinating.

and moments later it had blown through and was sunny with rainbows in all directions

Kinja'd!!!

coming up on 1 month of ownership, and I’m realising that the MPGs are really not up to snuff. ~26 when I should be getting ~30 (you all keep a google spreadsheet you update while the petrol goes in right?)

Kinja'd!!!

so next on the list is some filters, plugs/wires, etc.

see if I can find those missing 4mpgs

That is cool! Biggest hail I’ve seen is pea sized, which luckily didn’t damage my car.

I did some post hail inspection, and I dont THINK I saw any new damage... but all my cars that were outside already had some minor to major hail damage so detecting anything new was difficult.

Damn, was that yesterday? I went out to Golden to run and a storm rolled in the second I got back to my car, but most of the precipitation was when I was in Home Depot. I feel like hail season is out of control this year.

21.96% of the purchase cost for a new stereo.  I applaud this.

a few days ago, but yeah, we’ve been getting some truly random weather around Denver this year. It’s always pretty special here, but I do agree this year feels stranger than others.

I am guilty of this same thing.  Bought a really rough Mercedes 190e for like $400 and put $400 of stereo in it by about the 4th day of ownership.  Turn up the volume and you couldn’t hear the rest of the car falling apart as you drove down the road.

I love that the dime you found was discounted from the purchase price of the car.

when the found money is 0.01% of the total cost, it felt worth tracking :D

where is the temp gauge sitting?

maybe just needs a thermostat?

it’s pretty consistent , warms up well then sits just below halfway.

but a flush and thermostat replacement is probably a good plan at very little cost.
