I’ve always liked the look of the 61 Buick. I’d love a white Invicta convertible (shorter than this Electra)  with a red interior, and an upgraded transmission (700R4, TH400, literally anything other than the Dynaslow).  Would be a sweet cruiser.

Is this the car that gave us those silly stick-on oval vent things?

You can blame Buick for those, but that started in 1949. Buick called them “ventiports”, and they were supposed to look like fighter aircraft exhaust ports.

It varied a bit from year to year, but the top of the line models always got 4 per side, and lower trims got 3. The fact that your picture (and mine from Animal House) has 4 tells me that both cars are Electras .

I wonder how much that extra ventiport cost you. Because if your neighbor has four ventiports, by god, you need to have four ventiports too.

You also got the bigger car with that in 1961.  And you can’t let the neighbor drive a bigger car than you, can you?
