I was thinking about getting lowering springs for my car, but the ones I want are $300 for a set, and I’m pretty broke. But then, this morning, someone posted a lightly used set on Facebook for $50, as well as a Magnaflow exhaust for another $50. So I'm gonna make my car look and sound better for a third of the cost of the springs.

I don’t understand the logic of spending money on modifying your car when you say you’re pretty broke.

By pretty broke, I mean I have roughly $150 to blow on fun stuff every month after expenses. I'm just doing it all at once here.

I think we all have different definitions of "pretty broke." For some, it might just mean "not much fun money after I pay for all of my obligations." It doesn't necessarily mean "struggling to make ends meet."

Aren’t they kinda the same thing?

They are similar, but to different degrees in my mind. My point was that some people say they’re broke and it means that they have to eat nothing but ramen noodles until their next paycheck. Other people say they’re broke and it means that they’re living comfortably, just not comfortably enough to drop hundreds of dollars on something for fun.
To me, there is a difference between "struggling to make ends meet" and "living comfortably but not having much of a surplus." And a person in either situation might say "I'm broke."

Makes more sense when explained like that.

That’s fair, when I read the post that’s not what I got though.
