US President Donald Trump has stepped up his attack on the UK’s ambassador in Washington, saying “we will no longer deal with him”.
In tweets on Monday, he said Sir Kim Darroch was “not liked or well thought of within the US”.
Sir Kim had described President Trump’s administration as “inept” in leaked emails.
Mr Trump again criticised UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s handling of Brexit, describing it as “a mess”.
Earlier, Mrs May’s spokesman said she had “full faith” in Sir Kim, but did not agree with his assessment of the president.
Trump diplomat row: Police urged to open investigation
The leak was “absolutely unacceptable”, the spokesman said, adding that the PM’s office had made contact with the White House.
Mr Trump had already responded by saying “we’re not big fans of that man and he has not served the UK well”.
He then took to Twitter again:

It’s amazing how much he can project onto other people.

Given Trump said this, I’m guessing the complete opposite is far closer to the truth.

I find it amusing he’s not aware that he is ‘not liked or well thought of’ ANYWHERE except the US...

See, I think our august president lost a comedic comeback opportunity here. Were I in his shoes, my tweet would simply be, “Oh well, guess I lost his vote then.. .oh wait... ”

Yep, which is going to take a lot more than one presidential period to put right, especially all the tariff crap. Some countries could go either way and want to go back to the status quo while others may use g oing back to the status quo in some respects to their advantage on other things. It’s opened a whole can of worms.

In the same sentence in which he said he doesn’t know him. Most likely didn’t know who he was until this incident either...and of course, his claim is based on some form of poll of public opinion?
Wait, I forgot...he thinks he’s king of this country and what he believes is what the rest of the country believes!
Such a vile, petty man. Tiny hands too, I heard.

Minus 3. Boris is as inept as trumpy.
I don't even want Hunt to get in, but out of the two, Hunt is by far the least inept.

True, true.
But, as someone who watches a lot of Have I G ot News for You and Mock The Week, I would find Boris more entertaining.

I’m at work so I can’t post the Mock The Week episode where one of the comedians rants about Johnson being in politics.
Unfortunately Hunt pissed off a lot of doctors and nurses about the hours they do, should do and get paid for.
The 'austerity' crap needs put to bed and get the NHS and police better funded and then get ourselves off the mat and getting some work done.

I have my own views, but think that for the most part, benefits should be scaled back and the budgets of the NHS and police increased

We’ve tried scaling back the benefits but we can’t because E.U. law, E.U. courts get involved.
It’s a clusterfuck.

If I may ask...did you vote leave or remain? You don't have to answer

I voted remain. My mother voted leave. I asked her why and she gave me a few ridiculous reasons that had nothing to do with Europe. Yes, we argued about it.

I still wonder how the Eu is going to take either of their statements to renegotiate. Slam the door in their face or let them in and l aug h them out of the room.

I don’t know either, though there has been political movement within many of the E.U. countries.
I just want it to be over with and to move on.

Downing Street has responded.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48917307
Downing Street has reaffirmed its “full support” for the UK’s ambassador to the US after Donald Trump said he will no longer work with him.
A Downing Street spokesman said: “We have made clear to the US how unfortunate this leak is. The selective extracts leaked do not reflect the closeness of, and the esteem in which we hold, the relationship.”
But he said ambassadors needed to be able to provide honest assessments of the politics in their country, and the prime minister stood by Sir Kim.
Speaking on Monday following Mr Trump’s initial comments on the leaked emails, Downing Street said the prime minister did not agree with Sir Kim’s assessment but had “full faith” in him.

This is such a great burn. They appreciate the relationship, but also value that an ambassador should be able to give an honest assessment. Implicitly stating that they share the opinion of the ambassador.
Regardless of your politics, I cannot understand people who still thing Trump is competent president.
