Spent all night this Saturday rebuilding my Vanos. Felt so relieved when it was all back together.
Made the engine feel much better, pulls way harder to redline now and idles much smoother. It used to hiccup when idling for more than 30 seconds while warning up. Also figured out my intermittent misfires, two of my coil packs were loose almost. Also adjusted the dampening on my coilovers and it feels much better for daily use now. I’m actually really impressed with how much I could feel the change with just a few clicks, takes bumps and rough terrain much softer now.
Hope you guys had a good weekend too

Yay! Glad to hear all is well - saw a Clownshoe yesterday! They are a LOT more rare here compared to their Z3 convertible counterparts...

Yeah I’ve only ever seen a few others. I’ve had mine for three years no and just love it more and more every year. The Vanos has probably been operating poorly since I got it, but it recently got worse and then eventually threw out Vanos codes. Tedious but so worth it in the end. I was driving home at 5AM exhausted but happy as can be with how strong the engine felt. Feels like a whole new car
