Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Ahh, home. How I miss Laguna - I just wish I could afford to live there (and could handle the traffic).

I was out in LA last year. I experienced no traffic on the 405, I was unsure what anyone was talking about.
I went back this year. So much traffic. I now know the pain of the 405.
Regarding Laguna traffic, I did not experience traffic either trip.

Seems weird to me to build a tower right beside and under a cliff. If going for height why not build on the cliff? Seems like less work.

The tower is a private (appears to be decrepit) staircase to the house it is in front of. It hardly looked like it safely connected with the cliff side anymore.
The next beach access is down the road and if I estimate 10-15 townhouse-lengths down. So if you have the money why not spend it.
“It was built in 1926 as an enclosed staircase to the beach for William E. Brown, a senator from Los Angeles. After coming to California in 1882, Brown developed into an avid and acclaimed painter—making Laguna Beach a natural fit for his dream home. The tower was surely influenced by its owner’s aesthetic tastes and love of Laguna’s diverse geography.” - https://www.visitlagunabeach.com/blog/lagunas-hidden-history-the-victoria-beach-pirate-tower/
