I’m debating on some custom touches to the Crown Vic. Mainly to make it look different than a bog standard old cop car. H
elp ditch the cheap look to a degree and just make it my own. Modernize the car a little exterior wise. Just some stuff I notice on alot of newer cars.
I’m thinking about giving my Vic the white out to a degree treatment.
Similar to the CHP all white units. Picture above is the ADTR.net Casper build, which is to emulate the same look, but he added the pushbar.
My pushbar will be gone. I want to ditch the cop look as much as possible but still be able to enjoy some of the heavy duty parts they get. I could have got a regular old CV and done it, but I already have a CVPI and it’s in good shape considering.
Something similar to this picture. Paint the surround of the grille but leave the honeycomb part its black/gray color. Do the mirror caps. Black out the white between the windows, blacked out the chrome window trim, hit the back with the all white look. Add a set of lightly smoke tail lights to bring contrast back there.
Black window treatment, like I’d plan to do. Just helps loose the literal only piece of chrome, and makes the windows look cleaner. Like alot of newer cars already do.
I’d probably paint the door handles too, to help loose the cheap look.
Add the rear spoiler and here’s what a black roof looks like. Kinda makes it look like it has a glass roof. I think the white on the tail lights is a little too much for me.
It’s small touches that would catch peoples eyes, make it alot different than the average crown vic and give it a touch of those newer cars that it would have never got.
I’m also torn on the door moldings. I currently have them removed on my car, mainly because it was falling off. I discovered a small OEM type hole in the door that was hidden under it.
So anyone got any thoughts? Yay, nay? I know it’s alot of white, but adding a smidge of contrast here and there will help break it up and make it unique without being gawdy.

Body color door handles, white wheels is a great idea

I think the white wheels would be too much. I never cared for white wheels. Was going to do black wheels.
Set of wheels I have in mind are similar to a C6 ZR1 wheel. The multispoke, 5 big twin spokes, 5 littler twin spokes between them. Im just a big fan of twin spoked wheels like those. I found a set in a size I believe will work.
03+ Crown Vics love higher offset wheels and it makes it hard to find any aftermarket wheels that work on them and give you some width.
I do plan on lowering the car about 1.5 inches.

I always liked the taillight lenses with the amber turn signals more...?
Would be a nice contrast with the white?

I think, i’m not sure by any means. The older crown vics, despite them all being the same body style from 98 to 11. Use 4 bulbs in the tails, and my uses 2.
One for braking and 1 for turns.
I dig those and have considered a set for it now. But I like the idea of having a little contrast back there by smoking them. I found a set of pre smoked tails I’ve seen in person and really like.
I mean I could smoke those myself, but I’ve never tinted tails and I would have to practice on some first before I felt comfy.

All white, but maybe keep the roof white too, then a set of 17x9 svt r eplicas in graphite instead of black so you can actually see them.

I’d skip the rear spoiler. I think a b lack roof would look OK, but too much of a black/white mix might make it look more like a cop car instead of less.

I like the 2nd picture, but black out the chrome trim and that bit between the windows and slightly smoked taillights, like you said. But I’d consider adding these Mustang wheels, maybe with black spokes and silver rim .
Add the Mercury Marauder spoiler, remove any Police Interceptor badging, paint door handles, maybe an aftermarket exhaust, and you’re sorted.

The only problem I have with white wheels is brake dust. I get lazy or busy sometimes and I don’t need my white wheels going gray because I was lazy. Nor do I feel like cleaning wheels everyday.

The 2nd picture ISNT about the wheels. It’s more about the grille and white mirror caps.
The only problem I have with those wheels is literally everybody with a crown vics first set of mustang wheels is those. Probably 100 people on the crown vic fb group right now with those wheels.
Just a little played out on a Crown Vic for me.

I’d love to get those wheels but they’re off a 99-04 Mustang which won’t work.
03+ crown vics like high offset wheels. Most 05+ mustang wheels are a direct swap to them, the older mustangs work on the older crown vics though. 02 and back use lower offset wheels.
There’s so many 99-04 Mustang wheels I love but won’t work on the Crown vic. It hurts my feelings when I find a mustang wheel I like then realize its 99-04 style fitment.
Id love a set of the Cobra 10th anniversary wheels for my car, but its too high offset for me to make them work.

Gotta make the car fiy the wheels not the other way around, Fender flares!
Joking aside almost all oem wheels the +45-55 so it shouldn't be to hard, like you said the next gen mustang wheels will fit. Though I think a 17" would work best for the car.

Is what I have in mind for it, 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear.
Sadly those wheels are only available in that color or bronze. I was thinking getting those and making the spokes black or gray.
That or just send it and go bronze. Throw a bronze pinstripe down the side and a little custom touch on the trunk. Maybe have Crown Victoria wrote in pinstriping on the rear in bronze for the extra touch.
Guy did my bike and added some pinstriping to it, then wrote Buell and 1125R on it in pinstriping and it’s the thing most people notice first.
