The largest volume of fireworks has passed for us. There’s the occasional pop, but it’s not too bad. The best part is having a gun-trained dog in the house. He is a calming influence on our older dog who has always been afraid of the noise. She only had a couple of outbursts this year.

Yeah, nope. Fuck fireworks. I liked fireworks when I was a kid. As an adult dog owner? That shit can die in a fire.

I haven’t heard a single pop, Marin police just won’t stand for it I guess, or the people don’t want to make noise, no idea. I like it quiet myself.

Inexplicably, my dog — who is scared of balloons and children — has zero issues with fireworks.

My dog is terrified of vacuum cleaners and is currently sleeping through a barrage of mortars.

I haven’t slept in days because shit keeps blowing up. I should’ve known better than to schedule an inspection tomorrow morning.

Like t ightly coiled springs these boys are ready for action, ready to respond to even the smallest of incidents.

Toby is OPPOs comfort dog, he is a shining beacon of calm and goodness in a crazy chaotic world.

I'm with you.  For my one dog that is terrified of fireworks (and thunderstorms), Trazodone has changed her life for the better.  This is still her least favorite day of the year, but it is no longer the end of her doggie world.

There are so many fireworks going off across the bridge in Richmond that I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to keep watching S tranger T hings. There are about 3 per second going off in my general vicinity.

And now I can hear a sideshow. So there’s that.

Yeah it sucks in Hawaii, a lot of houses have louvre glass windows and smoke gets in from all the shit going off. I am glad I’m not there for the 4th anymore! If I go outside I can hear something far away actually.

That sucks. I grew up nextdoor to a neighbor who burnt everything as often as possible. Every night was a campfire and our house was downwind. Most summer nights I had to choose to either sweat and breath or be cool and get smoke blown in my face.

Btw - I just found a car with another underhood lamp!

Dogs are funny about things like that.  My head of household security is afraid of no one and nothing except for baby gates.

She’s still finding your feet. She’s a breed that loves to race around at a m illion miles an hour, then completely shutdown and sleep for hours and sometimes snore louder than your grand father after christmas dinner. Lol.

Just enjoy the journey.

We didn’t have fireworks this year, but the neighbors were setting off fireworks about a mile away. They set off their final salvo and then we set off 5 pounds of tannerite which dwarfed there fireworks in noise output. Kept everyone quite for a while.

Our senior doggo (turned 15 in April) is more or less deaf now, so the fireworks don’t bother him anymore.  The one benefit of aging.

Oh yeah they freak out in turbo mode and then find shade. She is the 4th Frenchie we have had over the years. She was born and started growing up on a Nor Cal ranch and was hunting birds when we met her at 12 lbs. Now she just passed 18 lbs and she is fast and very adept at where birds are and she even chases bees along the grass, I pull her back because I think she might be able to catch one. I’m curious how she will be at 27 lbs like her mother.
