I had a fair amount of exposure to the K-car and its derivatives in my early years . It was hard not to in the early ‘90s. My first car ride was in a light blue Reliant K coupe, so I am told.
My grandparents had an Acclaim, white with a red interior. I remember the back seat well.
They also had a Sundance. And possibly an Aries at one point.
My aunt had a Spirit.
A friend of mine’s mom had an white Acclaim, too.
For better or worse, I have a bit of a fondness for this era of Chrysler if only due to nostalgia.

My mother had a dark blue four-door relia
nt k. I thought it was a very sensible little car and it drove well.I like basic amenities like power windows and air conditioning, but I do not like a bunch of frou-frou.

Considering how much these things were everywhere, I’m surprised by how relatively little experience I had with them.
My uncle had a first year Caravan that he kept for about 15 years and 3 engine replacements, my Den Leader in Cub Scouts had an early Voyager that we rode in a few times, and my driving instructor in high school had a later facelifted Aries with a passenger side brake pedal, which is the only K I’ve ever driven myself.
Oh, and my best friend in high school had a Spirit with a headliner held up by wooden lattice, and which blew its radiator on the way back to school from attending a funeral. We made it back by stopping every half mile or so to add more coolant.
EDIT: Almost forgot, my dad had a Shadow coupe as an umarked take-home police car for several years. I remember coming home from school one time to find that he had driven it through the garage door when his foot slipped off the brake pedal. The township kept that in the fleet forever, I think it went to school crossing guard duty and then to the building inspector before eventually getting scrapped. Rarely rode in it, as the driver’s seat was usually the only one not completely buried in paperwork and police equipment.

When I was a kid, a family friend had a K coupe like that - two tone brown, and another had a K wagon. A neighbor had a K LeBaron coupe, pretty rare car these days. A high school friend had a black Aries sedan. My brother’s first car was a yellow 1985 Reliant sedan ca. 1997, he later had a Sundance Duster. My driver’s ed car was an Acclaim. Ks and derivatives were everywhere.

I had a light silver-ish blue 1990 v6 Plymouth Acclaim and it was a good comfortable roomy car.

For all the hate the Ks and their derivatives get, they were/are actually pretty decent cars, even compared to some of todays vehicles.
