Unexpected Unicorn Stratos (Ferrari)!!!!

I admit I did some fancy driving to get near it. Dealer plate too. I was able to chat with the driver when traffic got slow , then he exited at Tiburon Blvd/Seminary area. So I said, “I thought they only made one of those” and he replied, “This is #2" with his two fingers held up. He had a shit eating grin on his face, as he should. So I was unaware that they were going to make more of these Ferrari based new Stratos, and it appears they are, possible mainly for order is what it seems like.

The only thing better than that Stratos, would be a roadster version of that Stratos.

A good question, any crash tests? I doubt it. The dealer plate makes me wonder if it counts as the Ferrari it’s based on? Who knows, big cash must be behind anyone buying one though!

That has to be the same car, there are only two and the other is a metallic grey I think. So I’m guessing crash test is ok based off the F430?

There’s no government crash test for cars of that volume, even the regular F430. I’m not sure how crash safety compliance is demonstrated (whether it’s simulation or manufacturer-sponsored witnessed crash tests or whatever), but since it requires a US-spec donor F430 as you found, it’s probably no big deal. Makes me wonder how they snuck in that 8" wheelbase chop, though.. .

I wish I could have! It was a customer car that was getting ready for the showing season. Sadly, as with most concourse level cars, I doubt it gets driven much, if at all.

So weird to imagine these finally being built. They were cool and fresh when announced, and built off the latest Ferrari. But now they're what, a kit car based off an old model?
