I had a lovely drive home after work.
I got smacked by a driver that said he didn’t see I was stopping. At least he admitted fault when the trooper showed up.
ve only looked around a little underneath but don’t see any noticeable damage other than the cover. I think my car actually faired pretty well.
His car looked pretty rough.

You going through insurance? Seems like the guy who hit you is reasonably responsible.

That sucks. A guy bumped the back of my WRX while my wife was driving it and she didn’t get his information. It wasn’t bad, but it will probably require a new bumper cover. $1,500.

Yes, I got all his information. I’ve started the process on my end.
The worst part is we have a trip coming up and we’re supposed to take my car. Maybe I’ll get to play rental roulette.

I got his info. The only possible issue is he was driving his girlfriends car.

I can’t remember who has tried Turo and who hasn’t, but if you go the rental route please let us know how it all goes.
My only experience with Turo is booking a Z06 last year that the owner keeps cancelling on each prospective renter at the last minute. So maybe another few anecdotes would be handy

There’s very little local on Tito, and we have a 10 hour drive to our destination. I’m hoping to leverage a rental from his insurance.
Thankfully we have a bit over two weeks so there’s time for things to sort out.

It doesn’t look damaged enough that it wouldn’t be safe to take on your trip. Can’t you just put the repair off until afterwards?
Also, just out of curiosity,
which
is his insurance company? In the last few years I
was in two accidents where it was the other guy’s fault, and I got fir
st-
rate
service with
no hassles from both of their insurance companies (Progressive and GEICO). I hope your guy’s insurance comp
an
y treats you as they treated me.

I’ve rented thrice from two different people, it went great both times.

He’s on Progressive.
I actually forgot to mention the “service parking brake” warning that came on after the hit. The body damage portion alone could definitely wait, but I want that addressed and figure doing it all at once will be easiest.

Yeah, that sounds like something you wouldn’t want to take out of town. Well,
good luck, I hope Progresso treats you as well as they treated me.

Oh yeah, a Fiata and a 2012 Golf R with a stage 1 tune. I enjoyed the Fiata more because it’s more fun on the twists and it feels so intimate , but downshifting and then boosting the Golf R to pass with abandon all the way down I-5 back to Portland was pretty fun.
