Yeah, I can’t think of any gravel road in metro vancouver that isn’t some forest service road/utility road or private driveway

Very nice!
I’ve been thinking a lot about cameras for the Jeep, especially after a twisty road like today , but like everything else it’s complicated by the need to be waterproof and theft-resistant.
And ideally easily relocatable to my rollcage when I drop the windshield.
I love my Jeep, but it never makes anything easy.

gopro = waterproof, then just unmount everytime? or build some sort of steel enclosure and weld to bumper...

So little traffic, reminds me of cruising the backroads of Whatcom County when I lived in that area.
Now I live in a rat race where the relatively empty roads are before 0600 or so even on weekends.

GoPro lacks useful dash cam features like collision detection or (I think) allowing you to hit a button to retain only the segment of video you’re interested in.
What I really want is to buy a dashcam DVR to hide inside my dash to control two (or more) cameras, like this one, but I’m concerned by the fact that it seems to be the company’s only product and it hasn’t been updated in quite a while.

Don’t judge me, but I’m still on Mom&Dadtel.
Because phone plans are so much more expensive in Canada than the USA, lots of families buy large pools of data and share.
Many others, especially certain ethnic communities in metro Vancouver just buy us some cards and use them in Canada.

Maybe buy a cheap US prepaid SIM and just swap it out when needed?

perhaps yeah. I mean, overall the $5 is a low price to pay, but it all adds up!
I bought a milkshake in the US the other day on my visa and it worked out to $7.50CDN.
I mean... it was a really good shake but...

There are some cheap prepaid plans here too, just need an unlocked phone.
That’s around $5.50 USD I believe, not too bad for a really decent big shake.
