Going to check out a manual XJ tomorrow (thanks to JeepJeremy) but for a little more I could have this fun car.
I was a Honda fan before I was a Jeep fan, and this definitely pushes my buttons.
I want an XJ more, but if this lingers and I don’t buy the one I’m checking out, I might have to grab this hot hatch.

I know it may not be financially feasible for you, but wouldn’t something newer be a better replacement for your Jeep (if it’s a replacement). If trade in is higher, you could get a late 2000’s Civic Si or something (if the paint isn’t falling off).

They are awesome! One of the best British cars ever sold here! It’s basically a Mini Cooper done right, Lucas electrical shit that actually works, and of course VTEC :p
That is an awesome shade of blue, too. They never offered it in British Racing Green, but it would still be fun to get an EP3 in blue and put a British flag on the roof
Also, for an SUV, consider the
Chevy Tracker/Suzuki Vitara. The hardtop is an
XJ done right :o)

Oh, I’m keeping the Jeep, forever if I can.
I’d like to have something to supplement it when it’s in the shop, take some of the load off it, and give me added confidence that when I want to lead a group to some of Indiana’s back roads, I’ll have at least one vehicle that I can drive. Obviously the Honda doesn’t make the cut there.
Also rain. https://oppositelock.kinja.com/this-is-why-a-cherokee-or-4runner-or-well-anything-is-1835548888

Good! I tried looking for a yellow Rubicon like yours once, and it was hard to find one.

The windows down sunroof open thing was cool in March and April, but now? A/C on LO, seven bars (Max), face setting, passenger vent closed.

Those are supposed to be a riot, pretty tempting at $1750, though I’m sure it looks worse in person and that passenger sill looks wrekt

I had a 2003 model back in 2003, and drove it for 2-3 years. Fun little cars, but not really fast. Older Si models could rev higher - this was the first Si with a K20 instead of the old b16 engines. My buddy with an Acura Integra and a b18 could always smoke me. I loved the seats and the shifter. Space in the back with seats down was very much appreciated by me in my early 20’s if you catch my drift. Not just for mountain bike transportation either ;)
Fun car!

Oh, no no no. That’s the perfect weather for the windshield. Mine has been down for 2-3 days now.

It’s hard for me to agree with CP on a running Honda for less than 2000.

My wife drove her ‘02 Si to 200000 miles with no iss ues. Who knows you might be able to find a bone yard fender and door to install.

Considering one can get perfectly serviceable cars with no body damage and safety inspected for less I’d argue otherwise.
