Wait, this is still a stereotype? I thought they were Cars for Dogs now.

I read this when it was published initially. Pretty interesting.

Bitches can be lesbians too

I need a XT like that in my life. I think it would make me a better person and all that..

First time I’ve seen this and thought it was real ly cool. It’s crazy how much society has changed in only a few decades though.

Yes you do.
Side note: I don’t know that I’ve ever actually seen one in person.

I think so, I’m friends with a gay couple and I remember them joking about it last year when they were shopping for a new car. Basically, they decided that they couldnt get a Subaru, because they’re only for lesbians, but they couldnt buy “their” car because they needed more space than a Miata.
They bought a Civic hatch.

You know I had two Subaru XT’s. One 1989 4 cylinder 1.8L non turbo and a 1991 XT-6. They were amazingly weird cars. The 4 cy was a much better car than the 6 but the 6 really brought the car alive with an astounding 145 HP. I in the XT6 145 HP was quite a bit, that car would sing along at very high speeds without effort. I l oved the steering wheel and jet fighter controls. The 6 also had a really cool trip computer. 67 MPH average from Sacramento CA to Missoula MT.

Stop...you’re making me want an XT now...on top of everything else I have an unhealthy desire for

I liked the article I recently read about how horrible Subaru’s reliability is. Fourth from the bottom isn’t a great look.

Wait, they didn’t buy an Audi? I am disappoint.

Which is weird because all the people I know who have bought new Subaru’s have never had any issues with them. That’s between an O utback, 2 C rosstreks, and a WRX STI

I know, right? One's a commercial lighting designer, that would be completely in stereotype.

You really don’t want an XT, there are so many other better cars out there. It’s just the cool factor.

You could say that about most of my automotive desires lol

XT with a WRX drivetrain though.

Its because that list is based on recall rate. When you use the same parts everywhere like Subaru does it means that a recall affects basically everything which is how they ended up with a 115 issues per 100 cars rate or whatever the numbers were.

The 6 is so damn smooth. But yeah 230 HP would be much much better. One of my big beefs with the XT is too much weight on the front tires, the car pushes really bad when you get to the limits. Low CG and all that don’t mean squat when you have a 65/35 weight distribution.

Interesting. That’s also why people love modding them, basically any engine is plug and play in any car
![]() 06/26/2019 at 11:47 |

And Subaru loves it because it keeps development costs down and get better economies of scale than if each model had different parts.

Add a second engine in the trunk, more power and you fix the weight distribution issue.

I love the XT! It’s amazing that a car that looks like that had a drag coefficient of Cd 0.29.
