Spoiler: it was nice enough that I’m tempted to buy it, even though it doesn’t make any sense

I drove an 07 with under 100k, it was quite nice; I get why people like these.

Assuming 95% of the miles are highway, it’s about 16,300 gallons of gas. At my local rate for regular, $2.50, that’s $40,750.

I do too, it really felt like a tall LS430. Smooth, comfortable, and quiet. Drove like a tank, but in a good way.

I think he’s working on finding an OE replacement that he won’t have empty his wallet for and the Lexus shop agreed to not charge for labor since they essentially lied to him

The internet says a Toyota with 300k miles feels like its brand new. How did this one feel?

I daily a 2006 Land Cruiser with the same engine that has just over 272,000 miles, runs great.

It feels like it has half the miles. It’s smooth, the steering is tight and has no play, and it feels as stable as can be at 85. Engine still pulls strong and transmission is barely noticeable

Be religious with maintenance and that shouldn’t be a problem

It’s amazing how durable these Toyotas are

So far so good on that front. Coming up on another transmission drain and fill, still about 30k away from another timing belt. 175k miles so far.

According to the owners manual, it takes regular

After the VVTi changeover, it takes Premium :( 05+ I think. My fuel door definitely says “premium only”
I can feel a little roughness when I put in regular, but midgrade seems to keep it happy

According to this thread:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/gx470-premium-fuel.926205/
Lexus tells you different things for different years, like 2005 premium is recommended, 2006 you can use reg, but only for a short time, 2007-09 only premium.
