How are the crowds today? I’m curious if everyone just went straight to Galaxy’s Edge and the rest of the park is empty.

Crowds are fine here. Two- hour wait for MF ride at GE. Today is the first day of general admission after weeks of reservations. We missed that period by one day. We are staying in the park, and will go straight there in the magic hour tomorrow morning.

I was fortunate enough to go three times during the reservation period, including being one of the first from the general public to get in. It will never be topped for me. Since we were the first group on Friday we were escorted in as a group and all along the way were Disney managers cheering. It was so special.
So, my advice to you is to prioritize. If you have multiple people in your group and you want to go into Oga’s AND go spend all your money on a droid and/or lightsaber you should all get in line for those things. Since it will be Magic Morning I doubt you’ll get a return time for Oga’s and instead will get right in, so you should try and get a booth (depending on how big your party is).
But basically, Savi’s, The Droid Depot, and Oga’s fill up VERY QUICKLY.

We stayed in the Cars Suite at WDW back in late 2016. I’ll keep
my cost/benefit opinions of Disney to myself, but the Cars scenery was very well done, including inside the rooms. Probably the highlight of the trip, since it was the only place that wasn’t swarmed with people in late December.
