"Mercedes Streeter" (smart)

Yesterday a bunch of us celebrated a good friend and fellow Gambler’s birthday by going offroad. All things considered, the Ranger was absolutely awesome!
The truck was unstoppable on dirt.
And a formidable force in mud.
However, the AT rubber that came with the truck were terrible. I mean completely worn, cracking, and damaged. They really aren’t roadworthy, let alone something to use offroad. They make the Goodyear G159 look safe . That meant when the mud got deep enough to bury the diff, I came to a screeching halt and had to be recovered by a massive Excursion so. Many. Times. This particular trail can be traversed in 30 minutes in the dry (it’s the easiest trail), it took us 5 hours and 30 minutes, and that was taking the shortcut that cuts time. That’s how stuck everyone got.
4 Low in this truck is amazing. It just finds traction out of nowhere. Despite my crap rubber and stock ride height, it just kept grabbing and getting further than anyone expected.
Unfortunately I did lose the lower front bumper, however that’s not much of a problem. My offroad build for this truck gets rid of that, anyway! It gets those MTs soon! My friend told me it reminds her of a Billy Goat, and thus the truck’s name.
This thing is ridiculously fun!

With a flat deck it could almost be a stream fording smart car hauler. Glad you’re enjoying your Ranger.

Insert tread lightly principles.... I know, I know, OHV park and all.. Just keep in mind how long mud pits last and how ugly that looks for a sport.

TSL Truxus. Quiet enough on road. You can probably fit 31’s.

Small lift. Slightly bigger M/T tires and a rear locker and those trucks are a beast of road.

Sandal = strap behind heel to keep it from sliding off
Slide = no strap, so they can “slide” on and off

One of these days, you need to accept that you want a dual sport and get something that is both 2-wh eeled and fun off-road. There’s a guy near me trying to sell a Suzuki RV90 and wow....that is tempting.
Course, you could always get a KLR 650 and accept that it is the most unstoppable machine ever.
