I like “ Spoolbus” as a name but am creeped out that the seller felt the need to tell us that it “ gets the ladies wet”.

The stickers don’t bode well either. Be cautious.

Cars decay very slowly in these parts, and people often like unusual things to begin with. Move here, everyone else does :)

Usually they cost 3x that, rotted out, not running.

But it’s a Turbo Manual, caution is out the window.

When we started the search that eventually ended in a new Sedona, we began by looking at Carmax. We liked the Dodge and Chrysler offerings the most. Hondas and Toyotas were overpriced for what you got.

That and the price - remember, those Canadian market cars will be 25% less in USD, so you could probably negotiate the spoolbus to 2K USD.

Come to one of the lands where cars don’t rust, at all, ever.

$2k for a running/driving/not rotted Turbo mini is a steal, no matter how cobbled it may be.
I’d honestly go for the $950 one, it may not be a manual, but it looks just as rust-free, has factory interior, and is less than 1/2 the price.

Why’d you end up going Sedona over a Grand Caravan/Town and Country /Pacifica?
If you don’t mind me asking.

Short answer is that my wife fell in love with it at first sight, and this is her car.
Longer answer is that she has rheumatoid arthritis, with all the muscle weakness and pain that comes with it. The Sedona was the one that let her slide into the driver seat without hitting any part of her leg on the rocker panel or anything and getting a bruise. Once she sat in it, she loved the not-gray two-tone interior, the comfort of the seats, and the way she said it just fit her like a glove. What Momma wants, Momma gets. Unfortunately, it meant buying new at much more than we’d hoped to spend. But she doesn’t get many nice things, and this makes her very happy.

All good reasons. The Sedona is the only minivan I haven’t had any major seat time in, but I’ve heard they’re pretty nice. Glad to hear your wife likes it!
I felt like driving experience wise, it slotted between the Grand Caravan GT and the Pacifica, which would make it the 3rd best driving minivan IMO. 2nd goes the the GCGT, despite my hatred for 2nd row captains chairs. 1st place is hands down the Transit Connect, other than being slightly under powered at higher speeds, it drives amazing.
The Grand Caravan (non GT) , Sienna, Odyssey are at the bottom of the list for driving experience, all driving like overweight hippos on rollerskates. I felt like I died a little just from being behind the wheel for a while.

My sister has an old Odyssey, and my BIL a Sienna. Wife tried them both out and ruled them out instantly . Bleh.
I don’t really think of the Transit Connect as a family mover, but I saw someone put a large family in it, and I have to admit that, outfitted the right way, it could be great. Agree about captain’s chairs though.

Oh man, the Transit Connect passenger is a wonderful family mover. Plenty of room for 7 people while being more compact/maneuverable. We fell in love with them after driving a couple, we just can’t justify taking on a car payment as we don’t spend anywhere near that to keep or 3 vehicles on the road.
