Upon close inspection o f the pistons the 2 that were down on compression had little cracks. Turns out they were more then just cracks on one of them , the rings were holding chunks of piston from the cylinder wall.

Pro tip, you aren’t supposed to see daylight through the ring grooves.

Need to gap the rings for boost it looks like.

When you put it back together be sure to gap the rings accordingly for running boost. Clearly the stock spec isn’t keen on it.

My neighbor is an engine builder/fabricator/ machinist at a local shop and was talking about running tighter specs then stocks, which blew me away. Then again hes used to American muscle not 90's japan.

Not sure how to decide on proper gaps for boost.
