A BMW, and not a Hofmeister kink in sight. Also missing: valves, a water pump
Sadly, it seems to have been freshly repainted over rust.

Why do people do that? I mean, I’m the king of cut rate, temporary Band Aid fixes, but a paint job is expensive. Thats like putting new hardwood floors in a h ouse with a termite riddled frame and a rotten sill.

Sounds like a German car festival I went to once.
VWs with Audi wheel centres,
Audi with Bentley wheel centres,
Cars entered into the ‘show and shine’ competition that were merely clean at best. The cars were scratched, faded and filled with the owners junk.
All the different groups looking down on each other.
At least at Waxstock, everyone is in the same group and of the same mind, keeping your car clean.
