They sold it. They found another at a nearby dealer, same options but they want a deposit before they’ll transfer it so I can drive it. I’m not really into laying money down before I’ve even driven a car like this (it’s not that special, haha). Option #3 arrives in 3 weeks- ish. Same spec except it’s got a the Marrakesh brown interior, which I love.

Kinja'd!!!

Sooooo...I’ve got dibs on that one when it arrives. They’ll call when the first stick shift one arrives (even if it isn’t the green one) so I can drive one to make sure I like it.

It seems like this is it, however now that I’m pretty serious about pulling the trigger its a perfect time for another contender to appear in between now and when the Alltrack arrives. (Like an oxford green E39M5 with the extended leather)

Kinja'd!!!

I’m taking off in a few minutes for a 3 day long wedding weekend. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Deposits like that are always refundable so its not a big deal if thats what it takes to have them bring it in. If you want a salesman thats also a good dude and great car guy that works at VW go to newtown square and ask for Hyun (or just John, he goes by that as well to make it easier). He’s a good friend of mine whom I used to valet with that just started there. H e worked with me for a few years at Mercedes. New to sales, super great guy, big car enthusiast and won’t try to give you any hard sell or bullshit, just try to do exactly what you want

Oh cool! I’m close to Newtown Square. If nothing works out with this one, I will go talk to him.

I’de really consider trading the GX for a manual alltrac.  The 1.8 is plenty of motor and the rest of the car I like.  Trouble is it will be tricky to convince my wide we don’t need 7 seats.  She’s certainly gotten used to the space.

Do the math on gas savings and I’m sure she’ll be convinced.

And you can ask ImmoralMinority for real-world mileage too. Granted his is a DSG, but it will still be a better indicator than useless EPA numbers.

But the Alltrack is a fantastic car, and the new infotainment system in the MK7.5 is AMAZING! It has a beautiful 8" glass screen; the backup camera clarity can rival pretty much any car, and it has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

And that six-year bumper to bumper warranty is quite nice.

I’m about to add a 3rd oxford green to my car fleet this week. Just purchased an E34 540i with some auto trans issues, probably just gonna take the engine and other parts for my car though.

Oxford green BMWs seems to be my addiction

No problem! Are they offering any incentives on the car, or have you not discussed pricing yet?

I love the Marrakesh brown interior. The combo of Great Falls Green and that interior is so good together. I have a 2017 Alltrack SEL (DSG) that I bought new in November of 2017. After a bit more than a year and a half with it, I’m getting the APR ECU and TCU tunes this weekend. The 1.8 and DSG has been fine stock, but there’s also an almost endless amount of stuff you can do to this platform if you’re into that. There’s a great enthusiast community for Alltrack owners and it’s just a relatively small subset of the overall MK7 & Golf communities.

That might actually work out in your favor, I think the Marrakesh interior compliments the Great Falls Green quite well.

I’m amazed that many dealers are ordering Green high spec MT Alltracks. Guess they sell, so good on them!

Tripper definitely pulling the trigger! I like this! Also, that interior is the only answer.

Dude good choice - I had a Golf Sportwagen 4Motion for about a year and a half until somebody ran a red light and T-boned me. Great little car.. and it can fit a ton of shit in the back with the seats down

Love that green color!

Been thinking of doing that tune to mine as well, but worried how it will effect the longevity of the engine and the warrenty.

I have a 2000 green m5 with the brown leather (99% sure its not extended though) in my driveway, make an offer =p

That brown interior is great. I have an e60 wagon with the dark brown and black 2 tone, love that look

Warranty is a grey area. It’s easy for your dealer or VWOA to kill the powertrain portion of it if they wish to. There are also dealers out there who sell the tune and honor the warranty or don’t sell the tune and honor the warranty unless there’s a real indication that the tune is responsible for your issues.

I’ve worked from home for most of the last decade, so not being a commuter, I’m less worried about the longevity of the warranty. It’s unlikely I’ll get anywhere near 100k miles unless I keep this thing until I retire.

How have you been enjoying the ECU Tune since your last comment?  Is there a noticeable performance difference?

I love it. It's still a golf wagon. Until I do future mods, you won't mistake it for a sports car, but it is much livelier now. It pulls hard. I feel like this is how VW should have sold the car. They get this level of performance out of the engine in other applications, so I'm not even particularly worried about the extra wear.

Last question!   Any noticable change in gas mileage?
