Mondeo hybrid. Rarely seen because up to now Mondeos here have been almost entirely diesel.
The Mondeo is unusual in that it’s the US Fusion, but Mondeoised. The Fusion in its turn is based on the previous Mondeo. The hybrid version is further unusual in that it’s literally a Mondeoised Fusion as the small demand means that it’s made by Ford US on the otherwise Fusion line. The hybrid is even more unusual in that the American market doesn’t like hatches so they don’t get a Fusion hatch, meaning that the Mondeo hybrid isn’t a hatch either. Which does absolutely nothing for its sales, but there you are.

i don’ t get the point of a hatch in that size car. it looks like they forget to add the trunk and doesn’ t really have much more space to be more useful than a trunk. just do a wagon at that point.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

It’s a lot easier to load certain things in the back. For example a bike. Will a bike slide into a sedan? Absolutely, but it would be a lot easier to get it in if the opening whet to the top of the window instead of the bottom.

Is that a common idea over there? The only four door Mondeo sold here is the hybrid, otherwise it’s five door only (plus the estate).
The four and five door look the same so buyers go for the one with more useable luggage space - which isn’t the four door.
So this
rather than this (although the space eaten up by th
e
battery doesn’t help)

i dont think most people are aware that there is a hatch version. just from the exterior it didn’ t look like much more. I’d still go for the wagon.
