Inspired by the Dodge Journey thread earlier... name a terrible and/or hated-by-enthusiasts car that you would totally buy.
If I could find a cheap enough one in good shape, I would buy a Dodge Avenger with a Pentastar V6. I don't even care if the interior is shit and it's fwd. 280+ hp? Sold. COME AT ME BRO.

I personally know one Avenger owner (TheBlacktopExperiment, I think is his name on here) and he absolutely loves this.
Car hated by enthusiasts I’d own? Lancer Sportback, I guess? I don’t know if it’s hated, it’s just that no one cares about it and it’s a Lancer that’s not an Evo. I’m totally onboard with it.
That, and a diesel New Beetle. My ex had one. It was great.

I helped a friend with his when his “new in box” window regulator came unspooled from the factory (that sucked). He calls it the poor man’s charger or the rich man’s neon. As an oppo, I officially find it to be an abomination and blasphemy, it’s not a horrible car, better than 10 sunfires.

A Nissan Murano. Maybe even a Nissan Rogue. I can’t overlook the level of tech at the price point.
When I was selling cars and new new Acadia Denali’s came out we were so proud of our surround view camera system that was so new and cutting edge. Then we got a 2013 Rogue, yes Rogue not Murano, SL on the used lot with surround vision...
Put things in perspective, regrettably.

I had 4 Chevettes and loved them(because everyone hated the chevette) My Saturn SW2 was an all time favourite. And I really don’t hate My Dodge Nitro (which I told oppo about, then never mentioned again for like, 16 months, out of shame) Except for fuel mileage and uncoolness it’s been great. My Chevelle, while still a Chevelle, is the least cool C hevelle ever there was (4 door, beige). Also I wouldn’t mind taking an 81 reliant for a spin for old times sake.

Everyone who says it’s too slow or basic is missing the point of what a 3 Series should be. Just look at the E21 320i. That thing was considered borderline boring and on the slower side, yet it captures what BMW intended with the 3-Series. Fast forward to now and the F30 320i captures that same magic.
