I really can’t fathom how truly wonderful this place is. Last week, one member in particular went above and beyond in a time of hardship.

I haven’t told anyone, but I suffered an injury last week that left me with limited and partial mobility and use of my left foot. I was in the hospital and was basically told that although I’ll never recover fully, it’ll take a while to regain some of the lost mobility.

DaftRyosuke messaged me for something last week and I told him I couldn’t talk much and explained my situation. He kept checking in to see how I was doing for the subsequent days after the hospital visit. From the kindness of his heart, he sent me a get well soon package that arrived today. Unbeknownst to me, he bought me a 1/18 Mercedes SL65 AMG (R231) I had brought up days before.

Words can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am that someone would do this for me, especially considering we won’t be meeting until later this year. I truly appreciate his kindness from the bottom of my heart, but I also want to use this opportunity to thank the Oppositelock community as a whole. You’re all truly wonderful people. Your kind, compassionate, and amicable nature make this such a wonderful community to be part of.

I’ve made plenty of great friends here that I’ll hold dearly in my heart forever. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share my automotive passion with.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

nice! Oppo and sites like overland have surprised me over the years how much real human emotion and compassion is behind the kinja’s and shitposts. Sorry about your mobility issue to, I just say that and I literally feel your pain sitting next to my crutches for my left knee. Best of luck with the rehab!

Sorry to hear of your inj ury mate....hopefully you’ll regain more mobility than expected! Was the injury only to your foot, or your leg as well?

I agree, most people here are very kind and friendly....I check Oppo daily and this is by far my favorite community I am part of online. :)

Sorry to hear about the injury. I truly do hope you get better, injuries are never fun. And I know I have given you a hard time before and I just want to apologize for that, I sincerely mean it too. You're a good guy who helped me through my own stuff back then and I appreciate it, you don't deserve such a shitty injury but you do deserve the kindness from great people such as DaftRyosuke and others here. Sorry to hear, hope you’re able to recover steadily and regain as much mobility as possible, and have the support system you need to help you get through it (IRL on the ground wherever you are) .
