We don’t have a ton of need for that kind of muscle in our workstations since most of our video editing is just on the captions but the next server we get will have all of the cores to increase VM performance.

My coworker who does signal integrity simulations has a 32 core threadripper but the rest of us just have unlocked i7s. This is a customer system.

18 cores and two GV100's? Heavy-duty 3D rendering?
I used to have a job where I was on the road installing new servers and workstations for customers. The travel was brutal, but it was like Christmas every week because I was forever unboxing new gear. :)

No idea, customer won't tell us exactly what they are going to use it for. Our guess is some kind of machine learning.

I love how Crysis was so ridiculous in its requirements that we still joke about it more than a decade later.

Lol! I remember when the guy we had renting out our spare bedroom got that to run on high. Overclocked and massive water cooling. Was super cool then.

Ryzen doesn't have enough memory channels for how much ram is wanted.

Making me feel inadequate over here:
Oh well, at least mine is clocked higher.
