This is why I live in Montana, I actually don’t think it’s ever hit 100 here...

I remember a few years ago it was above 100 for like a week straight. There were also an insane number of fires that year.

They're calling for 90 here this week and I'm not ready for that shit.

On the other side of the cold front, we had a glorious day in the low 70's in borderland and 3+ inches of rain. We’re supposed to be around the 100 mark and entering our hotter-than-balls season later this week.

After most of my life in NM, and the last 10 years in Southern NM where the sun in an omnipresent force of oppression for much of the year , I can see the possibility of one day living someplace cold. If nothing else, I’d be willing to give it try for a change.

I wish more people had the same reasoning skills, because 90% of the people here shouldn’t be living somewhere with these temps. They should be in California, where they came from.

But it’s a dry heat.

It was 70- 73 degrees for about 35 minutes of my drive home from work. Then I went up the hill away from the beach and in those last ~15 miles it went up nearly 25 degrees! I had my windows down the whole time, enjoying the cool breeze that slowly turned into a furnace. Low sun angle at that hour and no humidity though and so it felt fine without AC in the car. Reminded me that I do indeed need to fix my AC though. Thankfully that’s only 20 minutes a day of ever needing it, even on the most brutal days. But on the weekend I’m sure to want it eventually. Sitting in traffic trying to go someplace without AC in 90+ weather is insanity.

Below zero is definitely worse. I enjoy “ cold” , when it’s 40F degrees out lol. -15F just hurts, especially with wind making it even worse! A nice dry 100 is fine if you aren’t out in the sun. I wish I could just live by the beach, then I’d get none of this hot or cold nonsense. It would just be 60-70 almost 24/7.

I f its any consolation...it’s winter down here and we got the equivalent of 72 Fahrenwhatzits today. That’s 22 Celsius for the metrically minded.

STL is going to have a week in the high 70s - just about perfect. If it doesn’t rain again (we’re experiencing lots of flooding, making my job as challenge) it should be a beautiful weekend (Tue/Wed) for me, and I might finally be able to clean up the car.

Some of my friends moved to Arizona and wanted me to come. Pictures like this are the reason I did not.

I was also reminded that my A/C does not work well yesterday.

My mom used to live in Phoenix and later Green Valley. She wrote a poem that she entered into some newspaper contest, about sweat and the supposed dry heat. I’ll have to see if she still has it.

I checked, July 2007 it hit 102 in Kalispell.

Yes that does happen very rarely, the last time I remember that was 1993. And my dad calls me and bitches about how hot it is every day, then he comes up to whitefish where it is 5 deg cooler.

Last February was all time cold up here, -21 one morning on the car thermometer. The cold reminds you how to survive.

That’s right around our average daily winter high here. We start hitting 90F a week or so after winter ends.

Depends where you’re at in Arizona. It just snowed a few weeks ago in northern Arizona.

Yeah, last month was nice. It was cooler than usual.

It was -12 on the subaru gauge one of the days while I was at Jackson Hole back at the airbnb. My weather app was reporting -17 that morning. Car did not like anything about starting in that sort of weather. Thankfully I never saw anything below -5 after that and most days were in the positive teens at least. Not living in that ever as long as I shall live!
I didnt even put any coolant in the Miata when changing it out, kept it 100% water and water wetter. Most people here think 60 is cold soooo I should be alright lol.
