So, back in the market apparently? Maybe? If we can find the right place. Looking for 1500-1800 square feet, parking for 4 cars (2 car garage, 2 on the driveway). IT IS SO HARD. Maybe I should stay put.
Special prize to who can guess the price of this place in $CDN . My townhouse backs onto the same park as this place. Nothing special, 1980/1990's BC special in a working class neighborhood in the burbs.

$2.4 million. Second guess is $3.5 million.

When ever I see a 1980's kitchen I think “$800k”.

Were also looking for a new house and it is hard. However it really makes me appreciate the house we have.
We’ve seen a lot of nice houses with kitchens like that, haha:(
$350,000 CAD?

$850,000 . If this was in Vancouver, probably $3-4M.

Price is anybody’s guess, market variation is crazy across the USA and I imagine it is similar in Canada.
We bought a similarly sized house in Minneapolis, recently remodeled. Working now to complete the barren garage (needs insulation, drywall, lighting, etc.) so I can work in there year round.
It was a HARD search with the house (kitchen, etc.), neighborhood and garage requirements. Our realtors said obsession with cars and garage space is an outlier for young buyers.

Nice price?

I don’t understand why it’s so expensive. It’s like there is no consideration for the underpopulated portions of canada.

I mean.. it is all relative. It is out of my price range by a lot, but I guess for somebody closer into vancouver it would be.

There are many things that suck about living in Alabama. But house prices are not one of them.

Eh, it can be worked with - paint the cabinets, new counters, floor, and hardware, maybe add a backsplash. It could look pretty decent without a total gut job.

$850k sounds so cheap for that much house ! Especially since thats like less than $700k USD. I dont think I could even find a 1BR condo about the same size as my apartment with no garage for that cost.

Haha wow

Yeah, but we are pretty far out from any major area.
Case in point:
$7.7 million in Vancouver proper:

Kelowna seems like it would be a beautiful place to live.

This is true. We’ve got some shacks up in the desert that go for 200-300k for sure! Or for the same money, you have basically a mansion and a whole plot of land to run your own human hunting grounds or whatever it is people do with “space”.

I’m too late. I was thinking 800K for an unrenovated 70s tract house a little ways out in the valley. Tandem garage, I hope.
I’ve had my eye on this very original Camelot era place for awhile, as I suspected it was going to hit the market, it is on a route I cruise in the fintail. Darn it all, I was too late, already pending:

(OK, I’d feel hot under the collar with a mortgage of even 10% that, I like the house though).

A lot of my mountain biking friends go to canada to ride, I guess the trails are gnarlier up there. Not extreme enough for them in Whitefish.

I just bought one of the cheapest 2-car-garage homes in the GTA. I feel your pain. I move there in July!!
It’s also an 80s special XD

If you happen to retain the current townhouse and are looking for a renter, I’m your family guy.
S eriously. I don’t mean to sound like a loon , but I need to get out of this place before I lose my shit. The view is great, but the temptation to strangle my neighbors grows stronger by the moment. Plus, Surrey.
Lol, HALP!

To visit. For an hour.
S eriously. By then, you’ve seen it all. The drive there is a hundred times more enthralling to me.

The north shore is a MTB mecca. Those folks are insanibars for their downhill. Check out some of the freeride videos on YT if you haven’t already. Absolutely awesome.
I’ve done the Whistler bike park and it’s a great time, not that I was doing anything special myself... however some of those kids send it with NFG like it their full time job. Epic.

I wish I had the capital to rent a place, but sadly I don’t.
There is a place for sale here super cheap (in the high $300K range) if you were into that.
