The man was an amazing aviator and was never afraid to send it.
A man with two plus years of airshow duty who was still amazed by our formation Snowbirds. A role model for the air force and an inspiration to those of all ages. It’s been a pleasure following you since before your visit to Canada, way before your Indy 500 debut. Thanks for your service, Maj. John “Rain” Waters.

That flyover blew my mind! Best flyover ever!

His high speed low passes and 9G maximum radius turns are at the top of my list of favourite airshow moments, right behind a F22 drift and being right under a CF18 as it does an unrestricted vertical climb. Amazing.
Rain is also a super nice guy. even though I only met him briefly on the flight line.

He was right over my head when he pulled that impossibl y tight turn, before charging back out over the middle of the track to pull that climb. I will never ever forget that sight. It felt like I was witnessing the laws of physics get broken.

Fun fact, there’s some serious wing flex on the Viper when it pulls 9Gs.

It makes sense that it would, when you think about the absolutely crazy amount of for e that must be put on them.
