It makes precisely dick-all for torque. 15ft-lbs at 12,000 rpm LOL

So the same as every other Honda ever made. S2000, NSX, Civic, lawnmowers.

I mean, you look at a VTX 1800 that makes 117lb-ft at 3K rpm .

I think they copied Harley on the engine design so I'm not counting that

No no no, same basic Harley design, just vastly improved upon. Honda could build a 10L V8 diesel and manage to only make 15lb.ft unless they copied someone else’s design!

Well, the engine in my Honda was designed thirty years before that one and it’s pushing (twisting?) almost 3x the torque. It is a bit bigger engine though.

How would thus be as a starter bike for someone? They seem light but not too powerful which is good. Do they fit tall people?

I have a friend who only buys Honda cars. He builds racecars out of them, and is a big Honda fanboi. He once drove me home in my truck (‘66 GMC with a 350/mild cam/long tube headers/Edelbrock carb and intake) and commented on how quick it felt for being a giant American POS. I told him that’s what torque feels like. Interestingly, he has a Monster and is trying to get me to get one.

I love how many Honda fanboys have usually never experience much else. They just had something with VTEC as their first car and found out how easy they are to mod. Never bothered stepping out of their comfort zone but continue to spout "Honda is the best!"
