Oh, no, I like learning about other models that are forbidden fruit here in the land of ‘freedom ™’.
I just like the VW T3 (Vanagon here in the US) and the LT from the same period that this cab appears to be based on. I was just thinking what a van would look like with that cab and serious trucky chassis like that tanker has. Over here we get ridiculous pickups based on commercial truck chassis, so I was just thinking of a van based on this ‘80s/’90s angular VW cab.
And then we do crazy shit like making your garden-variety pickup look like a class-8 semi...

Oh dear god. Those pickups made to look like semis look awful.
Our local council only got rid of it’s last VW LT tipper about ten years ago. It looked old, was slow as hell, very wide body but it kept on going.

Nice LTs, but they’re not on a big truck frame. There’s no kill like overkill, amirite?
Re: the council’s LTs . Hey, if it still runs, why replace it? That was the attitude of my previous employer. I was working on the budget for one of of my stations and they had requested a new(er) pickup for use on the ramp. The one they were currently using was from 1968. This was in 2015. The company didn’t like spending a dime even if there were tax advantages in doing so. Never was I so happy to be laid off from a job...

It was the council’s last LT. It was mainly used by the council roofers carrying around ladders, tiles and other roofing materials.
The cost of upkeep probably got too high.
The council got new equipment.
The gritter units on the back get replaced with other wo rk related units with some council work contracted out.

The transporter combi looks amazing! Do they get the 2.0 GTi motor?

i think they can be had with a 2.0 motor, but not GTi spec.
The Transporter is nice but I prefer the looks of the Ford Transit Custom Twin Cab Sport.

Actually, they used to have VR6 versions (albeit the earlier version of that Transporter) of it.
