The first car I bought was a Corolla FX. Loved it, totaled it in a parking lot (definitely not my fault).
I wasn’t aware of the DX. Guessing this one lived in a different part of the country most of its life; can’t imagine it would be anything other than a rusted out hulk by now otherwise.

Wow, that looks real clean. They can be kept rust free as long as you take measures. My brother’s only had some rust to the lower driver door.

I didn’t learn on it , but my FX was a stick. I was also considering a Yugo at the time because it too was a stick.
This week I found what looks like a good condition Grand Cherokee very close to me, very affordable, and it has the best 4 wheel drive system available for that generation (Selec-Trac, which allows selection of everything from 2 high to 4 low), but I just can’t bring myself to get very interested in it because dammit I want a stick.
