Now that our long delayed summer is here, Toby is enjoying our mornings with my outside coffee time.
Yesterday was a horrible day. But now we take action on an appeal. So we deal with what is next. My son graduated from high school last night, but I hate those ceremonies. But I am proud of him and know that he is ready to succeed in college.
Our wet winter has led to a toad population explosion, which is an excellent development.
Today I move on to the next crisis. My client has 3 class action lawsuits pending. We settled one last year, but when the time came to pay, my guy couldn’t pay. This is not good for anyone. And there are 2 other cases. Friday we have a Mandatory Settlement Conference with the judge to talk about this mess, and my client refuses to share his financial records to show he can’t pay . Here is my strategy:

Sounds like time for a Chewbacca defense, since he has no pockets how can he have money? Everything falls out of his fur.

High school graduations do suck. Mine was made slightly more interesting by being at DAR Constitution Hall . I took my wife to this concert there and she was like, “your high school graduation was HERE?”

As a member of the band, it was my duty sit through every graduation for three years and play pomp and circumstance on continuous loop until they all marched across the stage. Then I had to attend my own graduations from high school, undergrad , a second one from undergrad , my masters, then my Ph.D. I couldn’t skip any of them (thanks, mom!). Then as a faculty member, I had to attend every fall and spring graduation where my only role was to sit in the faculty section and try to stay awake. Add in all of my cousins graduating and my wife’s sister and cousins graduating, I’ve probably been to 30 or more graduation ceremonies over the years.
I’m looking forward to my kids graduating, but I’m really not looking forward to yet another pomp and circumstance.

That is the worst fucking song to ever have to play, nevermind on continuous loop.
