You think they well ever update the LD/LC platform? I mean it has roots going back to 1998.

They’ve been tweaking, improving it all the while. Could stand to lose some weight with a new platform. I read rumors the Charger could move into a new AlfaRomeo /Maserati(?) based platform with a turbo V6s /Hybrid replacing the mid level 5.7 V8 and V6, and the 300 being discontinued altogether after 2020. In any case I don’t expect major changes before the 2021 model year

Lots of good reasons to want one, especially the Hemis

I'd probably go the Korean route again (who am I????) If I was to get a sedan, but they do really appeal to me

Hyundai Genesis/Genesis G80 3.3T Sport or 5.0V8. My recommendation.

Nope. The Panther wasn’t going to be put down so easy, so it just transferred it’s soul into Dodge and now exists as the Charger.

If the Charger gets canned, it’ll just happen again. If Honda is suddenly  making large RWD V8 sedans for no explainable reason, you’ll know what happened.

I would probably go with a lightly used K900 or Cadenza depending on my budget. Keep in mind this would be my 4th car (replacing the Forte). So I can’t go nuts spending wise.

Re. Bonus ‘Murica

I think one of those cars is going to be my next one. Not sure which one yet, but one of them.

You can buy them a couple years old with around 40k for roughly what you spent on your Kia, why wouldn’t you?

It’s still a very capable platform that’s been continually updated since it’s introduction.

Why make a new platform when the old one is still doing the trick?

A few reasons. 1) I like newer cars (just is what it is). 2) I can write off the deprecation of a new car as it is purely for business use.

3) I kinda needed a car THAT DAY and the kia was just...there.

I guess in that stand point it makes sense. Carry on. ;)

That would be interesting. Its obvious people want a big powerful US sedan (of which GM threw away an opportunity ) but do agree would be nice to see them lose some weight.
