Hopefully it’s as good as it looks. Higher kms than I’d like, but it’s cheap, I love the colour and interior, and it should be solid if it’s been as meticulously maintained as he claims.
This one is new enough to have the updated trans and electronic throttle programming, and Haldex 2, but a year too early for Haldex 3. It also doesn’t have the hyper-expensive 4C suspension, but I’m not sure if it’ll have Nivomats in the rear. Also gotta remember a latex glove to test the PCV system. I’ve been spending half the day reading about P2 Volvos and what to look for, so I’m at least not going in blind. This’ll be very different than the rwd Volvos I’m used to.

It sure looks nice. Good luck. Post your findings pls.

If you get it, I strongly recommend getting a Grom adapter for Bluetooth (unless you replace the head unit entirely). My parents have an ‘05, and it’s served them pretty well.

I hate you soooooo much right now

Are you sure it doesn’t have the 4C suspension?

Oh jesus, I can’t believe I missed that. I was looking for these. Yikes.

Man that has all sorts of fancy b uttons my S60 doesn’t. In fact, I’m pretty sure I don’t have any of that bottom row. I have stability control, but it’s not dynamic, so is a bit different. I do have a “whack you rear passengers with their headrests button” though. I’m not even sure what two of these are ( fold mirror and dome light?). I’m seriously jealous of the parking sensors though, not a must have but certainly nice, and unfortunately something that seemed to be a pretty rare option on the one mid-2000s Volvos I was looking at when I bought mine.

Looks really clean. My ‘01 was a great ride, only issue I ever had was replacing the passenger half shaft. Being an ‘01, I was constantly told that the transmission was going to grenade (it didn’t), the AWD system was going to fail (it didn’t) and that it would be about the most unreliable vehicle I ever had (it wasn’t).

I didn’t know you could get an xc70 with adjustable suspension

I shall look into that, but I think it already has an iphone cord wired in which is cool

I think you got them right except the doe lights. No clue what that does but I don’t think it’s that...

Well thats all good to hear. I know when they updated the trans programming people could have their older ones get the same update, so that may have happened to yours.

It’s some crazy predictive/adaptive electronic suspension. Supposed to be super comfy, but the shocks are also crazy expensive.

I think my VIN was after the trans programming issue. It was reliable enough that we sold it to my wife’s aunt, who has since passed away. She sold it to another lady in the assisted living facility she lived in. She’s now in her 90s and still driving it. Probably the only 90 year old driving a nearly 20 year old modified euro wagon.

These drive really well. They do have a huge turning radius, and the back seat leg room is a little tight. PCV and timing belts. Also some issues with the alarm system when the backup batteries fail, taking the sunroof controls down along the way (because Volvo). Module is under the right front fender; plenty of web videos on the PITA replacement.
Was looking for XC or a V70
last year. Couldn’t find the right specimen at the right price,
and also wasn’t ready to crack
my unbroken
30
-year streak of manual transmissions.
Ended up with a minty V6 ‘06
6-speed Accord sedan
instead.

I’m used to that from my legacy. I don’t love it, but I can live with it. That is a nice thing about the RWD volvos, they have brilliant turning circles. This one doesn’t need another timing belt till 360k, but I definitely need to check the PCV. I didn’t know about the alarm, that’s good to look out for.
Nice, I’ve never looked into those but I assume they’re good cars. My coworker just got an 05 Acura TL and loves it

They are fun to drive, it never seemed to lack power. Mine chewed through 2 sets of cv joints in 4 years/60000 miles.

Oh man, excellent. If this is like the P1 Volvos, that saves you a not insignificant amount of cash (or a ton of work if you are a crazy person like me).

Wow, that looks sweet. I hope it stands up to close scrutiny! Let us know how it goes.

That’s the 4C, but what’s the other button all the way on the right, with little lines coming down from the ceiling (?)

That I have no idea. Looks like how you tell the aliens to beam you up

I hope so too! Whether or not the Four C shocks and struts have been replaced at some point will be a big factor....

I was a 240 guy for years. Then into an ‘00 Passat, which was FWD but with an inline drivetrain. Wasn’t quite a London taxi, but I could get in and out of my parking space in
half the moves required for
the V70 or Accord. My daily is an 800-foot stainless steel EV known as the subway, so goal was to find comfort, space and a modicum of driving satisfaction somewhere
relatively low on the depreciation
curve.

If that’s too small, it says it disables the car’s inclination and movement alarm sensor. Example: leaving a pet in the car while it’s locked,

Geez, that’s impressive
