Genius!

And when Mazda does it, everyone complains about the free rust that comes with the holes.

And yet they left all the glass, don’t they know how heavy that stuff is? Maybe they are just trying to source a hole saw suitable for cutting glass.

Lol, Trypophobia

That’s not glass, that’s cling-wrap
Weight savings 101

Looks like the new Mac Pro.

Only good thing you can do with a MkIV Jetta as far as I’m concerned.

I bet that thing now has the torsional rigidity of a wet sponge

It’s not glass, it’s transparent aluminum!
![]() 06/04/2019 at 16:59 |

How much does it weigh tho
![]() 06/04/2019 at 16:59 |

I think it’s tempered glass and you can’t cut it.
06/04/2019 at 16:59 |
|
Probably costs less though.
![]() 06/04/2019 at 16:59 |

Nope; the holes have to be all the same size.

As much as a block of Swiss cheese.

Really? Well, I learned something new!

It’s only my theory, but I am triggered by tryp and this car doesn’t do it.

came here for this
![]() 06/04/2019 at 17:04 |

Could it also have something to do with the fact that the car isn’t an organic object?
![]() 06/04/2019 at 17:06 |

After this has been sitting in the rain, I’d assume a wet sponge would fare better
![]() 06/04/2019 at 17:09 |

No, for me, that does not matter. It’s certain times and the reaction is real, sort of like PTSD. Uniform holes in an out-of-place location is the only way I can describe it.

The Vento, now with actual vento.
The Bora, now full of Bora holes.
We turned the Jetta into a Golf...ball.

My sister suffers from Trypophobia and I bet she would hate this

As a brother, i t is your duty to torment siblings. Send it to her and post response here.

Wow, that really sucks. I’m sorry you have to go through that.

It’s a weird thing, and not predictable. But entirely survivable.
![]() 06/04/2019 at 17:33 |

its more efficient to buy a Mazda and let it rust away

While it’s true most Volkswagens are made in Germany, some are Swiss.

The windshield isn’t tempered, but the rest of the glass likely is. Doubtful they do laminated glass for the sides on the Jetta. They normally reserve that treatment for the higher level sedans for noise reduction.

This was driving me nuts.
![]() 06/04/2019 at 18:56 |

They are not holes. This car has been manufactured with a special metallic alloy known as Drillium.
![]() 06/04/2019 at 19:11 |

fun fact- due to drag, those “speed holes” would slow the car down.

I didn’t know you could get the new Mac Pro in gold.
