What names do you give your cars? I’ll start.
Marinara McTopperbottoms
Which changed to the NyanSX or Nyacura depending who you talked to
When I lost that, went to the Thundercougarfalconbird
And picked up what my wife calls the Bubblebutt and I call the Frump Rump
Now I’ve got the White Power
And added some BlueBalls the Molestor
What about you Oppo

I decided to name the Cube “Denise ” a few years ago. Not sure why, it just looks like a Denise .
The C5 is as-of-yet unnamed.

Firebird was Firechicken or The Bird. Ca maro was Beatrice because I just liked the name . My friends pointed out the beat-rice part, don’t think that bit of car culture needs any explaining. Saturn was T he Gasmaster and the Subaru is Bluebaru. For me, t he best part of naming your cars is when friends and family refer to them by the nickname.

The Geo was often referred to as Geodude. That's about it, I don't typically nickname my cars.

I am not too creative. Meet “fintail” and “the wagon”:
A friend of mine has called the old car “Christine” due to the oldies usually played in it, but unfortunately the car does not repair itself.
I’ve always had bland names cars, my family has done likewise - name is usually either the model or color of the car. Growing up I remember “the blue car” and “the red car”, “the van”, “the Fairlane”, “the Tempo”, etc. I’ve also had “Bluetec”, “the E55" and so on.

My ex-wife is big into naming her vehicles. She named the black del Sol I owned when I met her Phoebe, after Phoebe Cates’ dark eyes, and my Jeep Sunshine.
I was going for Sapphire as a play on ruby (Rubicon) but she got it right.

My 2009 bas
e-model Acent hatch is lovingly named ‘Humdrum’ because it has absolutely no options whatsoever
....my previous 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5TS wagon was called ‘Beastie’ as she wasn’t in perfect shape, but nothing could stop her in the snow!

I do name all my cars. My mini was named Daisy. The Miata is El lobo. The best is our pilot. I wanted to call it Chuck, as in Yeager. My wife said Launchpad , as in McQuack. She won.

The Banana Express
Named after it being a banana yellow color.....also very fast. Also, capable of hauling a lot of stuff!
Prof. Reggie
Named after my old chemistry professor who passed away a few years ago. In the 80s, he was part of the team that recommended the materials that went into the Fiero body panels.
S.O.F.I.A (Something Otherworldly, Favored In an Apocalypse)
It is impervious to earthly conditions and just keeps on rolling. I didn’t winterize it or put it on a tender this year and it started up for the first ride of the year as if I had last ridden it the day before. I fell over multiple times on the trail and it some times doesn’t even shut off (most bikes have a tip-sensor to kill the engine if it falls).
Valerie
Classy english woman. Well traveled, highly knowledgeable, and a taste for the finer things in life. She’s older now, but wiser because of it. And she loves to go on long trips.
Roxie
Punk rock loving, healthy disrespect of the law, and always a good time. Yeah, she’s “Roxie” for sure.

I don’t name our cars, but my wife called her Explorer “Big Mama” and started calling my WRX the “zippy car”.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

This is Clairette, but just Clair most of the time. Scarlett was too sexy a name for a practical (but fun) vehicle without much sex appeal, so Claret, er, Clairette became her name.
Bertha has a big ol’ butt, so that’s how she got her name. It was my dad’s company car, and she came with the name.
Past family vehicles:
320i - Betsy
528e - Fred
W210 wagon - Sadie
W210 sedan - Blanche (she was painted refrigerator white)
Windscar
Thunder Turd
I can’t think of any others at the moment. My mom had habit of naming things. One vacuum was Herbert and the other was Sunny (you can probably guess the brands). Her phone directory was Sarah. Friends seemed a little confused when visiting because my mom would shout out things like “has anyone seen Sarah?”. I’m sure there were plenty more but I can’t remember them.

Lancia Scorpion: Either “The Lancia” or “The Scorpion. Maybe sometime the “Fancy Fiat”
Fiero: Just the Fiero
500 Abarth: Abarth or Fiat
S-10: The Truck
I’m very creative.
My family hasn’t really had names for cars except for two. An old Ford Escort by the name of Marvin that was lost in the Colorado flood a few years back. It was replaced by a mint 91 XJ6 a ffectionately and ironically called “the beater”

My first Miata (‘93) didn’t have a name until one day I noticed that it somehow had gotten two bullet holes in it:
They gave it, I thought, real authenticity a la the rapper 50 Cents, who had got shot nine times at some time in his past. By proportion (2/9) I started calling it “Eleven Cents.”
The first thing I bought for my next Miata (‘99) was a bumper sticker that said “I [heart] LISP”:
so it acquired the name “the LISPmobile.”
The next one after that (‘04) I bought from a lady from Texas. She had earrings with the Texas flag on them. She reminded me of the late, great Molly Ivins, so I named that one “Molly.”
My latest one is a very bright red ‘09, which, OK, I’ll admit it’s not very imaginative but I call it “Red.”

Hah, a lisp fan.
To be fair, I owned a ‘10 WRX Lightning Red hatch that I called “Carmine” for the colour alone, unwittingly ignoring the stupid pun.
