The all-new, all-blue, Monaco Blue 931. It’s like looking at a dream come true. I’m still in awe of the fact that this is MY Porsche.

Of course I have to put it back together, albeit carefully. The paint is still curing/hardening. And another thing. I believe this dispels the myth that “all Maacos are bad and give you crap paint jobs”.

My experience was straightforward and simple. I told them my plans for the car, the problem areas that needed some bodywork, and we went over the options and how to go about it. What paint system was used (Sherwin Williams in this case), and an expected time to complete. This is a urethane-based single stage and the problem areas I originally had can’t be found anymore. It’s not concourse-levels but I’ll be damned if it can’t pass for one. Solid 9.5/10, 10/10 compared to what came before.

So excited for you, it looks amazing! I think most of Maaco’s bad rap can be attributed to crappy prep , you did it right by doing so much yourself and ensuring that quality materials were used . Can’t wait to see it come together.

I love i t! No doubt this pic fails to it proper justice. Can’t wait to see more angles/lighting !

It’s also pretty great that w herever the new paint stops (engine compartment? door jambs?) , the old color won’t stick out like a sore thumb. I sure woul d hate to paint my car blue and see traces of red here and there.. . Grey is a really nice neutral color for you to have started out with here .

Exactly! Anyone can shoot paint, but if you give them a raggedy dirty canvas it’ll look shite. We got the fenders on tonight with the difference in gaps in relation to the hood on both sides being within 1mm. Exponentially better than how they were before.

The front is pretty much all together tonight, blasted rain slowed us down but the front looks pretty complete minus some small trim.
