Going back to the vet this afternoon and there’s a pretty good chance that this may be a one- way trip for Molly The Dog . We’ve had her for ten years or more. That’s a very long time. But she is now very ill and mostly refuses food. (Picture from healthier times.)

Shit, man, I’m so sorry. I lost mine in similar circumstances this February. Still hurts. But we made the decision once she started refusing food. Yeah, she could have lasted a few more days, but it was just for us, not her. She’d be starving.

I wish I had words to make it easier for you buddy. She looks like a good dog. You have our condolences

Yeah, we don’t know exactly how old Molly is nor just how long we’ve had her. She showed up one night and hung around. She’s had a great run.

Sad news. The refusing to eat part is a pretty big sign, I’m afraid. We had to put down our two cats which we had since they were tiny kittens. First the one stopped eating, then the other just wasted away. It was tough. RIP Molly, and best wishes to Mrs. O.C.

Thank you. For my part, I need to move past. I’ve kept a little bit of emotional separation from the dogs, which is not to say that Molly and I did not have a relationship. We all relate to the doggos differently. I try to have a bit more of an animal husbandry reference.

Going through the exact same thing with our 11 yo black lab now. And after we took her to the vet, I had to go to the airport to catch a flight (business trip I couldn’t cancel). Just hoping she’s there when I get back home tomorrow (she’s not in pain the vets say , just declining). So I know how you feel, and it sucks.
