For those not familiar, I give you the Piaggio Ape 50.  Basically a scooter turned into commercial transport.  It makes sense for the narrow streets and limited parking in Italy, I guess you would call it a cute Ute.

Is it wrong that I really want to import the larger steering-wheel-optional-equipped and older Ape TM to Canada...?

One of these seems ripe for an EV conversion.

No, the only wrong I see here is questioning this kick ass plan. Actually Cush man, made in my home town lc was the US equivalent of these, popular as garbage carts and meter maid transport into the 70s.

Yup! Cushmans are cool too, though I like the Piaggios better! :P

Doesn’t Mustie1 on Youtube have a Cushman Meter Maid he did up as an enclosed pickup?

Piaggios are better, just mentioned the Cushman as the long gone US equivalent, have not seen the Cushman pickup, will have to look that one up. I saw a Piaggio today started and  driven up a hill, lots of noise and drama, not a lot of speed, but fun to watch.

I think Piaggio is cutting back on the Ape line too though...the TM used to be their slightly larger- capacity (in engines and cargo...I think there was a 2-cylinder diesel as an option at one point) model, but I don’t see it on their site anymore? :(
