I’ve decided that I’ll be buying my car back from insurance and then put it up for sale. Basic details:

2005 Acura TSX

223,1xx miles

I’m the 3rd owner

VIN: JH4CL96865C031179

Only 2 minor accidents, documented !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Will be a clean title, but salvage history due to hail damage. Pics and videos !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I’ve owned it for two years, only thing other than normal maintenance and tires 34k miles ago, I had to replace the alternator 9 months ago.

Oil is changed every 5k miles

Transmission fluid was changed (not flushed) 25k miles ago

The suspension is all in good shape, no clunks, bangs or rattles.

Car is located in Central Illinois.

I’ll be asking $2750

I try to be as candid as I can in the pictures, so I’ll be showing every flaw the car has. Keep in mind it is 14 years old with over 223k  miles.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: These are just such great cars. Comfy, great build quality, great driving dynamics, understated styling, decently punchy engine... NP.

No offense, but this: Keep in mind it is 14 years old with almost 222k miles.

Pisses me off like no other in ads. I don’t care how old it is or how many miles are on it, how it looks is directly related to how well it was taken care of.

/rant.

Ok, now that that’s off my chest. Good luck on the sale, I think it’s well worth what you’re asking for it. Hopefully the rebuilt title doesn’t scare too many people away.

Acura, a good looking car, and at least another 50,000 miles of life? NP.

Also, does the red Optima belong to someone significant?

It’s my dad’s, a 2014 bought new on New Year’s Eve 2013

Rebuilt with hail is definitely less scary and it’s priced at roughly 75% of it’s value if it was clean, so I should be able to get it pretty quickly.

How has it held up? I’ve seen some recent Kias have weird issues.

Sadly most people don’t look at the “why” behind a rebuilt title, they see one and run away very quickly.

Wasn’t aware these sold for that much, at that price you shouldn’t have much issue. You’ve clearly laid out all issues, have pictures of everything, it should be a no-brainer for someone to snag it up.

It’s held up really well. We haven’t had any issues with it, although my dad is on top of maintenance and takes good care of it. Only gone to the dealer for servicing and recalls and that’s it.

That’s the idea. Depending on where you look, it’s worth between $3200 for one in fair condition and up to $4000 in excellent condition. Mine has a great service history, has been well maintained, and is overall very clean so I shouldn’t think it’ll take long to sell at all.
