So, I was parked next to a new-ish Chevy Spark on the weekend while at thhe local Wendy’s burger joint in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Is it just me....or is that doorhandle set a weirdly large amount ‘into’ the door? I mean, most door-handles are at the top-rear corner of the door on most cars and only an inch or so from the edge....but am I crazy for thinking the Spark’s front door handles are set a ridiculous amount in from the edges (especially down from the top edge)? (Not the rear handles though - those are mounted in the rear pillar).

What say you Oppo? Am I just weird, or what? :P

Also....cars need to come in more bright color options...that lime green looks cool. :)

They did change the door handle location with the new Spark

An d yeah I agree, we need more cool colors. One of the best things about the Spark! You can get 2 shades of pink, a nice blue, yellow, orange,

They used to offer purple, but no more :(

It’s no more weird than how the headlight assembly almost reaches the base of the windshield.

It’s also kind of a 90s style door handle. Most cars seem to have switched over to the protruding pull bar style in the early 00s.

I like cheery, bright colors...weirdly you only seem to see them on cheaper cars!

If you step back it "kinda" lines up with the body style lines.

I think the current- and previous-generation Spark are a great example of nailing refinement of a design. I thought the older Spark was an interesting design but the front fascia was too extreme, the door handle looks like a parts-bin afterthought, it had a little too little horsepower, the manual shifter was kinda vague, and the build quality wasn’t really there yet. I really like the newer Spark, because it looks like they fixed most of that . I hope to drive it at some point and see how it compares to the older ones.
