This thing. A Focus estate from a couple of generations ago. But not just any old Focus. LHD, sticky out bumpers with extra lights stuck into them, odd looking headlights, different badging....
It’s a US market Focus. You don’t see them every day here, or indeed every year. Either a returned emigrant or an immigrant, in case you were wondering. Worth absolutely nothing so the owner might as well run it until it stops.
Bonus Cactus.

Just as rare over here, too :p
But yeah, that fu
cking pisses
me off what they did to the Mk1. They just cheapened it a little more and kept selling it. We never got the Mk2 at all :(

I tried to find one last time I was looking to buy a car. I could not find one. I think a compact station wagon would be the ideal practical car.

The couple in the apartment next to mine in Houston had a first-gen Focus wagon (in red). Seemed to be doing well despite its age.

Any US military facilities in Ireland? That's how many weird US market cars ended up in Germany.

A colleague’s dad sold his early Mk3 late on last year.

P ersonal story about that particular model - my wife’s company had those as company cars and while driving to a meeting she got hit by a big cheater bar off a flat bed semi truck in front of her. It bounced off the pavement and came through the left A pillar and windshield showering her with glass. The bar lodged in the A pillar coming to rest about a foot from her face. There was so much damage to the structure of the car they ended up totaling it but she was fine. I appreciate that little Focus.
