This JL Wrangler was in line in front of me at a left turn signal on my way to work today. I heard a loud crooner song coming from somewhere, then realized the Wrangler driver was not only playing said music, but singing along. Loudly. I can’t figure out what the song was but I think it was Dean Martin.

Excellent. My wife and I are going to see Tony Bennett live later this summer. Love the music from that era! Sinatra, Bennett, Martin, etc.

It’s probably a Jeep thing, hence your lack of understanding.

If it were me, it might also be Neil Diamond.
+1 for this guy.

Wranglers are t he only “truck” (excluding work trucks) I see regularly here in my corner of the close-in DC burbs. You have to go farther out into the sprawl before you start seeing privately-owned pickups in any sort of numbers. In fact, outside of muscle cars, Jeeps in general are the only American vehicles I see regularly.

I live in a small town in Texas, and roughly half the vehicles on the road are a full-size pickup. Wranglers tend to be operated about equally by women and men here, and most of them are used for daily driving.

When I lived in Wisconsin, pickups, and American cars in general, were much more common. I honestly can’t even remember the last time I saw something like a Chevy Malibu here.
