Motorcycle mufflers are common replacements for the OEM unit. The 3 pot sounds pretty good with a moto muffler and they cost far less than the $1k for a new OE muffler.

Oh I'm sure! I'm not knocking it at all. It's actually a really smart solution. I was just surprised to see it, and a Ducati one at that!

Oh I know you aren’t knocking it...just opening my encyclopaedia per the usual. xD I kinda want to do the same one day, but honestly as the car ages I want to modify it less and less. The bloody bolts that hold the thing together practically disintegrate if you look at them the wrong way after some time.

Luckily we don't have the rust issue out here. But I bet you could find an OE moto muffler on CL for next to nothing.
