I installed a subwoofer in my GTI this weekend and discovered this atrocity that the previous owner left behind. It had 16,000 miles on it when I bought it. Who would do this to a brand new car!? Ugh. Thankfully it’s just speaker wires.

Wow is that some sketch! Both a un-insulated twist and duct tape!

Ah, the classic “twist and half-tape” stereo install

Cut him some slack. A small roll of electrical tape is like several dollars

And like you  said , this is just speaker wire! You wouldn’t believe the shit that some people do to their cars. Or what some “professionals” try to pass off as “repairs”. This is why I will never buy a salvage title vehicle unless it’s for parts.

For some reason I’ve yet to figure out, when many people touch wires, their brain shuts off.
