You can cry in comfort in the massaging seats of the LS430

The LS4 30 is awesome! How did it feel to drive a car with all that luxury and prestige mixed with Toyota Quality?

Did the Infiniti break down?

My wife loved her G37x. I thought the steering was really good but the engine could have used more low  end torque. Valid?

It was so smooth, although you could tell this one was 18 years old, the radio wasn’t working as well as the VSC warning going off. But overall, an incredible luxury car and I definitely see why they hold their value

I’m used to my TSX which has 200 hp/160lb-ft of torque vs the 280/260 of the G35, so it felt like a rocketship in comparison. It might not hurt for a little extra but like I said, it has 100 more lb ft than my car it felt incredibly fast even down low

Nope! Actually fewer warning and problems than the Lexus, although being 6 years newer might help

Which of the two would you prefer to buy with your own money?

But why? You stepping out on the TSX?

The specs for her G37 were 328hp and 269 ft-lbs so a good bump in hp but not much more torque. To me it  was just a little sluggish until the engine got spun up and then it was nice and peppy.

Honestly, I don’t know. They’re both so different and yet still fulfill the same goal of being fast and reliable. The Infiniti really puts the “ sport”  in sports sedan, but the Lexus can really hustle and was surprisingly good handling on highway ramps. I’m probably leaning towards the G simply because I can find it for $5k and less a lot easier with lower miles and newer year.

There’s a 90% chance the TSX will get totaled from hail and I’d like something with more power because I do a lot of highway driving.

I’ve rented an Infiniti Q40 which is basically the G37. I drove it around 1000 miles going from LA to Lake Tahoe and back. It was pretty comfortable at highway cruising at 90mph on i5 for hours on end. And then it felt pretty good on the mountain roads around Tahoe. With the seat all the way lowered it actually felt like a decently sporty car and I quite liked the looks. Skiis fit well through the center seat pass through and a few overnight bags in the trunk so it was plenty practical. I recall getting like 28 mpg so it was economical as well. That said, it was still just a pretty generic sedan. Nothing special in any particular department.

Did you want to stick in the Honda family? Could look for a TL-S, I have always loved those. Could also do something different like a mazda 3 hatch.

The TL-S is almost unobtainable at $5k or below, which is likely my budget. The regular TL is a strong option though. I thought about the 3, but I want something with more power, for merging and passing and fun

Have you driven a 3? I had autocrossed a ‘14 and it definitely felt quick enough. And I’ve driven my friend’s ‘10 hatch and quite liked it. I suppose it’s not extremely quick but I prefer having turning capability for sure. Plus I just dig the looks of the car anyways.

I would have said speed3 but budget again. Plus the reliability might make you want to commit sepukku

I did once. For around town and short acceleration it’s fine but doing pulls from  60-80 it would really struggle, and if I’m spending the money I’d rather have the G35. The first gen speed3 is in budget frequently but I also like reliability
