Seen in the bowels of the good ship Connemara earlier this week (she was built in Italy and was previously the good ships Borja, Baltic Amber, Norman Asturias and Asterion, in the nature of ferries. She’s currently owned by a Swedish company and leased to a French one. Despite all that she proudly flies the flag of Cyprus, because of course she does). N
aturally the crew are mainly Polish, so just like my local Costa or Starbucks
.
One tourist with a teenchy little caravan, and one splendid chap in a Morgan.

Didn’t that ship used to belong to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ cousin?

An Italian built, Swedish owned, French run ship, with an Irish name. Weird/interesting.

Common in that business. The signs are in up to four languages, which don't necessarily include English.

Also, I can’t imagine towing anything with a Yaris. Those barely have enough power to get themselves down a highway, let alone with the trailer. I imagine it’s manual though, which would help a lot

What? Not in Engli s h? Isn’t English the national language of nations?

I see you haven’t been on a well used car ferry recently -one of the passenger notices was in Italian, Greek, French and Spanish. Announcements were in French and English by a Spaniard. The master was from Ireland, the crew were mainly Polish. What the mainly F
rench passengers thought
about crew who mostly
didn’t speak a word of F
rench is unknown.

You’d be surprised
. I’m guessing the little caravan is unbraked, so if it’s under 550kg you’re good to go.

Not a Yaris. Its a Opel Corsa (or a Vauxhall Corsa, if it was sold in the UK or Ireland). Terrible tow vehicle, because some versions take 15.5 seconds to reach 60. Can’t imagine what it would be like going up a hill with the trailer.

Wow, yeah I am indeed surprised

Huh, so it is. Oh god, yeah that wouldn’t be a good time

Only Vauxhall in the U.K., it's Opel everywhere else including Ireland.

I’m sure that’s all true, though it would not have occurred to me to wonder at how the French might feel about anything.
