I got my Evo back after a month in the shop getting the clutch replaced as well as timing belt and dealing with an EGR issue. I haven’t driven it much in the last 6 months due to the clutch and EGR issues and a lot of life happening. It is just such a great car  to drive. The shop also said that it is the best Evo that they have seen in years and were stunned that it had 174k on it.

I still have stuff I need to do with it. That chin spoiler needs paint, it is due for struts, I think I need to look at the dust seals on the front brakes and I have a new intercooler and fan shroud to address some damage from the accident we had a couple of years ago.

Yes, the blue is very nice. Looks great on the car. I kind of like the spoiler as well as is, but I know I need to get it painted for the car to look as it should. I have toyed with the idea of getting white stripes to run down the hood kind of Cobra style just for fun.

I’ve also thought about getting a set of Evo VI Tommi Makkenen Edition stripes  for it.

The car was one of our DDs for so long and we kept it low key, relatively speaking. Those days are over. I’m not going to go nuts and do crazy mods, but some light tuning and maybe something like this.

I was going to say the same. If the trailing edge of the rear wing or possibly a similar lower trim piece at the rear was white, it would tie it all together.

the colour matched would be good

a car with rally heritage deserves a few scrapes, but I tidied those up too

and the plastic over the side mirrors, might be worth a little wipe with a black plastic treatment thing, I’ve had good success with macguires back to black.

Yeah, it needs love. The original chin spoiler was blue, but the tabs were broken off over the years.

Also, Mitsubishi put super thin paint on it to “ save weight”. Lots of little scratches here and there. It doesn’t look bad, but they are there. It’s funny, the vent cover is supposed to be painted black. The paint just fell off after 5 years of so. I just left it with the stainless  exposed.
