Worst wreck I've witnessed so far, and I only saw the tail end of it. I was driving home last night, and I happened to glance over to the oncoming lanes just in time to see an Infiniti SUV thing skidding to a stop, facing sideways. The entire front end was gone and it had damage to the rear, too. I instinctively put my hazards on and started to pull over, but then I realized it would be too dangerous for me to hop over the barrier in the dark, so I kept going. I hope everyone was okay.

A former coworker of mine died hopp ing over a barrier in the dark. His ambulance had stopped on one side of the road, and was trying to reach an accident on the other, but apparently what looked like one stretch of road divided by two sets of jersey barriers was actually two separate bridges with a narrow gap between them.

Yeah, from the report it sounds like the ambulance driver made eye contact with him as he realized there was nothing there. Sounded pretty horrible. He was a good guy, always eager to help people.

I saw an impala hit the median wall (dale earnhardt style) on the dow ntown connector in front of the Va rsity a few night s ago. He was swerving thru traffic trying to pass everyone, lost it, slid across the lanes in front of us , and hit the wall almost head on. I need to get a dashcam.
